As part of the Nkoxweni Conservancy, there are over 20 species of game, hundreds of bird species, and a welcome paucity of people – a refreshing rest from the rigours of the city.
Four Hiking Trails are demarcated, but you are also free to wander off the beaten tracks to view the fauna and flora at even closer quarters.
Fishing on the Umkomaas is available upon request. With luck you’ll catch yellowfish, barbel and Eel. Bass Fishing is also available on the farm, we have 3 well stocked bass dams. Kick boats and float tubes are permitted.
Game drives are available to you. A 4×4 vehicle is advisable. Don’t forget your binoculars.
Sundowners from the comfort of the lodge or from our viewing deck, overlooking the dramatic Umkomaas Valley, is a perfect way to watch the sun go down in this beautiful part of the KwaZulu Natal.
Mountain biking along the demarcated walking trails is an exciting way to view the game and enjoy the countryside.
Bird Watching for the avid birder and nature lover is guaranteed to keep you busy for hours.

* Bushbuck * Common Reedbuck * Grey Duiker * Oribi * Blesbuck * Kudu * Nyala * Springbuck * Black Wildebeest * Blue Wildebeest * Impala * Giraffe * Zebra * Bushpig * Warthog * Lynx * Ostrich * Black-backed Jackal * Leopard (have been spotted) * Many “lesser” species too numerous to list here.
Birds are also too numerous to list but Marshall Eagles, Crowned Eagles, and Narina Trogons are residents.
